This Australian project commissioned by Mirvac won the 2023 Digital Signage Award for creative execution, including public art. This is one of the most hotly contested of all categories, with some very famous digital artists from around the world competing. Ben Gartland, from Spacesuit & Co our creative content partner on this project was selected as the winner. It’s a truly significant achievement.
The Ann St project that gave Ben the opportunity to strut his stuff was the brainchild of Chris Gauci, a Ci company director and CTO who had been asked by Mirvac to come up with some ideas for the building. The LED ceilings he created on the first floor and on the rooftop gave Ben the canvasses he needed to do something spectacular with the brief that Mirvac provided. As part of the project, Mirvac formed an Art Committee to oversee the site’s impressive public artwork which includes permanent, temporary and digital creations all celebrating the site’s historical and modern day flora, fauna and climate. These artworks help create calming spaces connected to nature.
The fact that Ben did so well with the digital content and been subsequently recognised as the world’s best in our industry is of great pride to all concerned here at the Ci Group, from Chris our CTO through the installers who carefully put all those pixels together. Hopefully more projects done in conjunction with Spacesuit & Co will follow suit. Enquiries are welcome.
